The contingent of Ghana’s Black Meteors has arrived in Annaba for their U23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Algeria on Friday.
The team flew out of Accra on Wednesday evening for the game that will be held at the 19 May 1956 Stadium in Annaba.
Ghana’s Olympics will be playing to advance to the U-23 Championship where they will contend for a place to play in the next Olympic Games which will come off in Paris.
If the Black Meteors come out victorious in the two-legged tie, it will take its spot at the tournament which is scheduled to come off from 24 June and 8 July 2023.
It is however been reported that Felix Afena-Gyan who plays for Cremonses has refused to honor a call-up to the side.
Since the Athen 2004 Olympic Games, Ghana has failed to qualify for subsequent games in men’s football.
Many supporters are looking forward to seeing the team redeem itself after almost two decades of disappointments.
