In what will be Ghana’s first competitive outing since the demise of its former winger, Christian Atsu, the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier match between Ghana and Angola will see the observance of a minute’s silence for the fallen star.
The Black Stars will take on their Angolan counterparts at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi at 4 pm.
It was been scheduled that, on the 7th-minute mark, a minute’s silence will be observed to honor the former winger who used to dorn the number jersey during his time with the Black Stars.
Christian Atsu died tragically following a magnitude 7.8 earthquake that hit Turkey in early February.
The former Newcastle United forward featured for Ghana at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and was also adjudged Player of the tournament at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations held in Equatorial Guinea.
He was buried on 17 March in his hometown, Dogobome.
Ghana will be hoping to keep their unbeaten run intact under new manager, Chris Hughton before traveling to Luanda for the reverse game on March 27 in the matchday four games.
