Crystal Palace winger Jeffrey Schlupp returned from international duty with Ghana, carrying an injury.
Schlupp wasn’t named in the Ghana squad for this month’s 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, but was spotted in the team when they began training for the Ethiopia match.
He started that match and unfortunately, he sustained a hamstring injury in the first half as the Black Stars secured a narrow 1-0 win.
Even if he was fit Schlupp wouldn’t have featured in South Africa defeat in Johannesburg because the African country is on UK’s red list and any player returning to the UK from there would face mandatory isolation upon re-entry.
Schlupp arrived on Monday in London where he met Crystal Palace doctors who assessed his injury.
The club haven’t spoken about the injury but Schlupp is a doubt for their Premier League clash with Tottenham on Saturday.
