E-Levy Has Not Dropped To 1.5%; It Still Remains 1.75% – Ofori Atta

Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta has stated that the newly electronic levy hasn’t been decreased from 1.75 percent to 1.5%.

At a press conferences organized by the finance ministry on the morning of December 6, 2021, the minister said that it still remain the same.

Ofori Atta said the government will continue discussions with the minor caucus in the parliament, as well as other parties, with a view to reaching a consensus and returning to the House within the shortest time.

He revealed this just after the announcement and rumours that the percentage of the new e-levy will decrease.

This is not in line with that which the Deputy Majority leader of the Parliament Alexander Afenyo Markin had said earlier, stating that the levy has been reduced to 1.5 percent.

The Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori Atta, earlier declared that the government would come up with a method to convince the minorities into accepting Electronic Transaction Levy Also called E-Levy.

In a story filled by JoyNews, Ofori Atta said Ghana will not be able to continue doing things in the same way as it has done.
