Black metal band, Cradle Of Filth’s former guitarist, Stuart Anstis has passed away at the age of 48.
Anstis passed away on August 21, according to Antoinette’s memorial to him that she posted earlier this week which left former and current band members no other option than to offer their tributes to the legend. His death’s cause is still unknown.
Announcing the news on Facebook, Anstis’ wife wrote, “Stuart Anstis 2/5/1974 – 21/8/2022. Rest in Peace, you were too beautiful for this world me Lover. Nothing will ever be the same again, Love Always and ever your Antoinette. Until we meet again…”
Dani Filth, the band’s vocalist, paid tribute as well: “It is with a deeply saddened heart that I have heard of the passing of my former guitarist Stuart Anstis at 48. Stuart -despite our eventual differences- was an amazingly talented guitarist who brought a real sense of magick to everything he wrote in Cradle Of Filth.”
Anstis joined the British band in 1995 and remained a member until 1999. He contributed writing and vocals to the classic albums Cruelty And The Beast (released in 1998) and Dusk… And Her Embrace (released in 1996), as well as to the EPs V Empire, or Dark Faerytales in Phallustein, and From the Cradle to Enslave.
