Alhaji MND Jawula, a former President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) according to multiple media reports has been confirmed dead.
The former Board Chairman of Real Tamale United’s death is reported to have occurred in the United States of America where he received medical treatment.
The exact cause of his death is yet to be disclosed though sources close to him confirm he had an ailment.
Alhaji Jawula was the President of the Ghana Football Association from 1997 to 2001.
He gained admission to the University of Cape Coast where he acquired a Bachelor’s degree in English and Economics in 1968 and then went on to study for his Masters’s degree in African literature at the University of Ghana, Legon.
After a brief stint in the classroom at the Tamale Secondary school, he entered public service, becoming the district chief executive in several districts across the then-three northern regions.
Alhaji MND Jawula was a fellow at the University of Carlton in Ottawa and also served in the health, harbors, railways, and finance ministries.
Tributes are pouring in for the former football administrator.
