Former Ghana Defender John Paintsil Not In Support Of Milovan Rajevac’s Return

Former Ghana defender John Paintsil does not support the imminent re-appointment of Serbian Milovan Rajevac as Black Stars head coach.

Rajevac is set to be unveiled in the coming days after Ghana Football Association (GFA) received greenlight from government.

The Serbian who took Ghana to the Africa Cup of Nations final in 2010 and the World Cup quarter-finals in South Africa is seen as the right man for the position, which became vacant last week following the sacking of Charles Akonnor.

But Paintsil who worked with Milovan in his first stint does not approve of former Thailand and Algeria coach’s return to Ghana.

“If it is true Milo is taking over the job then I will say the timing is wrong because how well does he know this current team,” Painstil said on Angel FM.

“Our time was different because all the players were already made, and it will take only a miracle to help him qualify this team.”

Milovan will be expected to qualify Ghana to the World Cup in Qatar and win next year’s Afcon in Cameroon.
