Former Radio 1 DJ and stadium announcer for the Middlesbrough Football Club has received an increase to his 12-year jail term from 12 years to 18 years for arranging to have sex with young children in the Philippines.
Mark Page who had been sentenced to spend 12 years behind bars after he was charged for arranging the commission of a child sex offense between 2016 and 2019 received an additional 6 years after three appeal judges concluded that the sentence was unduly lenient for his crime.
This comes after Solicitor General Alex Chalk appealed to the court to increase the jail term.
Even though Mark Page had denied five counts of arranging the commission of a child sex offense, he was found guilty by a jury earlier this year on four of the counts.
The appeal court judges; Lord Justice William Davis, Mr. Justice Martin Spencer and Judge Kristina Montgomery agreed with Chalk’s attorney, Barrister Benjamin wh suggested that the sentence should fall between 12 and 24 years.
