George Afriyie, a Ghanaian football administrator, has expressed his admiration for the Ghana Football Association’s handling of hooliganism in the country’s football industry.
The current Ghana Football Association administration was faced with the phenomenon of hooliganism when it assumed office in its first year, a situation that was denting the image of the sport.
It has however become a rare occurrence in the last few years in the Ghana premier league.
A former Vice President of the Ghana Football Association, George AAfriyie said in an interview with Asempa FM that the FA has done well in this regard and deserves commendation.
He said that one thing that we have to praise the football association and the football people for is that the act of hooliganism has reduced drastically.
Afriyie added that though it has not vanished completely but has gone down really much.
There are reports that George Afriyie plans on contesting Kurt Okraku in the next Ghana FA elections for the presidential position.
