Mark Addo, the Vice President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) on Sunday 19 March, led a delegation of the Black Stars technical team to attend the Akwasidae Festival.
Akwasidae is a festival celebrated by the Ashanti chiefs and people in Ashanti Region. It is celebrated on a Sunday, once every six weeks.
The delegation led by Mark Addo was made up of members of the Ghana Football Association, the Black Stars management committee, and the Black Stars technical team.
Chris Hughton, the new Black Stars head coach, and one of his assistants, George Boateng were spotted at the festival.
The two Black Stars coaches are in Kumasi ahead of the official unveiling of the former Black Stars technical advisor as the new head coach of the side.
Hughton replaces Otto Addo who left the job back in December after the team’s early exit from the 2022 World Cup held in Qatar.
The GFA earlier in the month announced that it will disclose the new manager’s contract details especially how long his tenure is expected to last.
