Ghana Defender Alexander Djiku Voted Third Best Player At Strasbourg

Ghana defender Alexander Djiku has been voted as the third-best player at Racing Club Strasbourg.

The 26-year-old also nominated for the defender of the year in Ligue 1 has been a mainstay at the club helping them sustain their topflight status.

Djiku played 30 games for the Blues last season, winning two players of the month award at Strasbourg.

His performances impressed fans of the club, who voted massively for him to place third, just behind midfielder Dimitri Liénard.

The club is yet to announce the best player of the 2020/21 season.

Alexander Djiku is currently in Ghana after joining the Black Stars for the international friendlies against Morocco and Ivory Coast.

The French-born has endeared himself with fans of the Black Stars following his swashbuckling performances for Ghana.

Meanwhile, Black Stars captain Andre Ayew has said he hopes to improve his goal-scoring record with the senior national team.

The Black Stars failed to score in their last two international friendlies against Morocco and Cote d’Ivoire, generating talks of the team lacking a potent striker.

Andre Ayew has been Ghana’s top scorer in Europe for the past two seasons, and the Swansea City star hopes to replicate that form in the national team.
