Ghana defender Tariq Lamptey Registers Assist To Help Brighton Eliminate Liverpool In English FA Cup

Black Stars defender Tariq Lamptey has put in a brilliant performance for his side, Brighton and Hove Albion which defeated Liverpool on Sunday.

The Ghana international was given a starting berth as his team recorded a 2-1 win over Premier League giants, Liverpool, at the American Express Community Stadium.

Brighton and Hove Albion scored two goals against Liverpool, one of which was assisted by Tariq Lamptey before he was replaced in the 90th minute by Jan Paul van Hecke.

Liverpool went into the lead through a Harvey Elliot goal on the 30th-minute mark, however, Brighton pulled the goal back through Lewis Dunk after Tariq Lamptey’s shot from a distance hit him before going in.

The home team snatched the winner at the death through a brilliant finish by in-form Japanese forward Kaoru Mitoma.

With this win, Brighton has qualified for the next round of the FA Cup competition.
