Ghana Premier League Is Not Interesting Anymore – Jordan Opoku

Jordan Opoku, a former midfielder for Kumasi Asante Kotoko has said that he no longer watches the Ghana Premier League because it no longer excites him.

Over years, many Ghanaian football lovers have shifted focus from the local football league to foreign leagues, especially European football, with the excuse that the local league is not competitive and attractive enough.

The Ghana Premier League has over the last few years seen a steep decline in match attendance at various stadia across the country and this makes Jordan Opoku believe that it is due to the fact that the local league is not interesting at the moment.

Jordan Opoku told Akwaaba Radio that he does not watch the Ghana league because it is not interesting anymore and that he watches foreign leagues instead.

The ex-midfielder won the Ghana Premier League with Asante Kotoko in the 2007/08 season.

Several football legends and pundits have bemoaned the quality of Ghana’s league.
