UEFA Champions League returned on Tuesday night after a two-week break. Ghanaians were part of the action.
There were two players in action. Kamal Sowah and Edmund Addo were active, while Mohammed Kudus sat on the bench, as their teams were met with mixed outcomes.
As Kudus was on the winning team as Ajax defeated Dortmund, Kamal and Addo suffered crushing defeats.
Kamal Sowah
Kamal Sowah was powerless, just like Club Brugge teammates, as Manchester City run riot in Belgium.
The Premier League champions secured a 5-1 win that condemned Brugge to their very first loss in the competition.
Sowah was struggling and was substituted in the 56th minute. However, it was his third consecutive appearance at Europe’s top club competition.
Edmund Addo
After missing FC Sheriff’s previous game because of being suspended, Edmund Addo returned to the starting line-up to play in the match against Inter Milan.
Sheriff had hoped to continue their winning streak, however they were unable to do so. Italian winners proved to be too tough and won 3-1 at home.
Addo has been substituted at the end of 75 minutes. Sofascore gave the player’s performance 6.5 after 32 minutes, two key passes, and 61 percent accuracy on passes.
Mohammed Kudus
Kudus was benched, but definitely had a blast, in which Ajax achieved a third consecutive victory in the Champions League.
The Dutch champions were impressive by hammering German giants Dortmund by 4-0 in Johan Cruijff Arena.
