Richard Commey, a Ghanaian boxer, said that he had let the country down after his loss to Vasiliy Lomachenko, a Ukrainian boxer, on Sunday morning at the Madison Square Garden in New York.
Vasiliy Lomachenko (16-2 and 11 KOs) dropped and outboxed Richard Commey (30-4 and 27 KOs), in a lightweight fight. The judges scored it 117-110.119-108.119-108.119-108.119-108.119-108.
Commey spoke after the fight and said that he fights for Ghana every day and felt that he had let Ghana down by his loss.
“I fight for my country; I fight for my people. I let them down, but I believe I’m gonna come back stronger,” he said.
