Thomas Partey has been eliminated in two cup competitions within 48 hours, and he has reacted disappointed.
The Ghana deputy captain was part of the Black Stars that eliminated from 2021 Africa Cup of Nations at the group stage on Tuesday, after a shocking defeat to debutant Comoros.
They exited the tournament with only a point from their 3 games in group c.
They lost their opening game by 1-0 to Morocco, draw 1-1 to Gabon, and lost 3-2 to Comoros.
This is the Comoros first time qualifying to the AFCON, and they lost their 2 group games against Morocco and Gabon without scoring a goal, but ended up disgracing Ghana 3-2 in the last match.
And this was the first time the four times African champions have crashed out of an AFCON without a single win, and the first time they’ve exited at the group stage since 2006.
And two days later, Thomas Partey was sent off as Arsenal lost 2-0 to Liverpool in the semi-final of the Caraboa Cup.
Unhappy Partey took to his Instagram stories to express his disappointments of events in the last two days.
“I’m responsible for anything that happened and will take all the critics. I should be more intelligent not to get in a challenge already booked but this is my personality, I like to fight for every ball.
I love this club and I love my country even though things don’t always turn out the way I wanted, I will continue to work harder and make things right,” he wrote.
