One of Ghana’s most renowned football administrators, George Afriyie, has disclosed that he was instrumental in coach DiDi Dramani’s landing of a coaching job with Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
The well-spoken football manager landed the Porcupine Warriors job in 2012 after his exploits with the Black Maidens at the World Cup which was held in the same year.
Coach Mas-Us Didi Dramani won the Ghana Premier League on two consecutive occasions as the Asante Kotoko head coach.
Speaking in an interview with 3Sports, Mr. Afriyie reveal how he helped the coach land the job at Asante Kotoko.
He said he had worked with the coach and was one of the first people to tell him to take a shot with a big team.
So, he called Didi Dramani up and told him how good he was because he had seen him at the lower levels of the game and women’s football, so it was time for him to go a step further.
According to the former FA vice-president, Didi Dramani was reluctant because he did not believe anyone at the top clubs would hire him, but he assured him that he will put in a word for him.
Didi Dramani is currently one of the assistant coaches of the Black Stars.
