I’ll Create Wealth Rather Than Look Rich – Wode Maya Fires Back At Critics Over Slippers

Famous Ghanaian YouTuber, Wode Maya has fired back at critics who called him out for his poor taste in fashion after he donned a simple pair of slippers.

Wode Maya’s social media in-laws were quick to jump on his case with some lambasting him for dressing like a poor man despite his wealth.

Responding to their opinions, Wode Maya who is currently one of the most-paid YouTubers revealed that he doesn’t care much about his appearance as he does about making money and impacting others.

“I don’t want to look rich. I want to create wealth. I want to impact people’s lives. You can talk as much as you want, but I’m just doing my thing. I’m not seeing anyone.”

He added that he invests in things that matter including footing the bills of many Ghanaian students. He also hinted that he never had slippers growing up and as such having them now is a privilege.

“I have over 100 people in Kumasi that are going for free education because of me. I have university students for that I pay their fees. I paid a lot of school fees in January. I do things that really matter. It’s not about physical appearance. People are telling me that I’m wearing slippers. Even when i was in the village, I never had slippers.”
