Peter Okoye, one-half of the popular music group, P-Square, has bemoaned the tribal crisis brewing up in Lagos State over the general elections.
The singer is seeking to drum into the ears of Nigerians especially those who are eligible to vote that they are being used by politicians who are not interested in their well-being but are determined to cause tribal divisions to foster their political ambitions.
Mr.P as he is popularly called said this following the fire outbreak at Akere Spare Parts Market in Olodi-Apapa, Ajegunle, Lagos on Wednesday.
Unidentified arsonists are said to have set the market dominated by Igbos with goods and property worth several millions of Naira on fire for political reasons.
Touching on the development, Mr. P stated that the two most prominent tribes in Lagos, the Igbo, and the Yoruba do not have any animosity towards each other but urged Nigerians to be conscious of the fact that it is politicians who are playing the tribal cards for their selfish gains.
He said he is an Igbo man who is married to a Yoruba woman and that Igbos do not hate Yorubas, neither is the reserve true.
He added that the politicians do not like you whether you are Igbo or Yoruba, for it is their pockets that are of importance to them.
