It’s Hard For Ghanaians To Accept Singers Who Don’t Practice The Norm – Darkua

Budding Ghanaian Afrofusion singer, Darkua has revealed that Ghanaians find it difficult to accept new singers especially when they don’t follow the crowd.

Speaking to Paula Amma Broni of GhanaWeb at Black Sherif’s Mozama Disco Concert, the musical talent revealed that Ghanaians are always reluctant to accept new acts.

“You know Ghanaians have this thing… it’s difficult for them to accept someone who doesn’t do the norm that they are used to…”

She however added that even though the is initial resistance, some music lovers later come on board after listening to a few tracks.

“As time goes on, they learn to adapt and start accepting you and always ask for more music. So yeah, they actually accept the song am doing so it keeps me going.”

Speaking about the year 2023, the ‘You’ singer revealed that she is hoping to release an EP within the course of the year.

“I do Afrofusion, I love to blend genres, Afrobeats and RnB, Reggae… my team is doing an amazing job and my work is also speaking for itself. Hopefully, I will release an EP.”
