Jada Pinkett Smith Parents: Meet Her Father And Mother Robsol Pinkett Jr. And Adrienne Banfield-Norris, the family of the American actress and singer.

Pinkett Smith best-known work is her role as Niobe in A Different World, The Nutty Professor, as Niobe in The Matrix Reloaded, The Matrix Revolutions and The Matrix Resurrections, Gotham and Girls Trip.

In the year 2018, Pinkett Smith began co-hosting the Facebook Watch talk show Red Table Talk and for this show, she was awarded a Daytime Emmy Award from seven nominations. Time magazine named her one of the top 100 most influential individuals worldwide in 2021.

Her other notable roles include a guest appearance on the short-lived sitcom True Colors, Menace II Society, Set It Off, Scream 2, Ali, Collateral, the Madagascar films, Hawthorne, Magic Mike XXL, Bad Moms, and Angel Has Fallen.

Pinkett Smith launched her music career in 2002 when she helped  create the heavy metal band Wicked Wisdom, for which she sang as well as songwriter.

Together along with her husband Will Smith, she has a production company, and has produced credits in documentaries, movies as well as television shows.

She also wrote a children’s book called Girls Hold Up This World, which was released in 2004, and was ranked in the top two spots in The New York Times Best Seller list.

Born on September 18, 1971, in Baltimore, Maryland, United States, Jada Pinkett Smith was named after her mother’s favorite soap opera actress, Jada Rowland.

Pinkett Smith is of Jamaican and Bajan descent on her mother’s side, and the African-American heritage on her father’s side. Her parents are Adrienne Banfield-Jones, who was the head nurse of a Baltimore inner-city clinic, and Robsol Pinkett Jr., who was the owner of a construction company.

Banfield-Jones, who in the decade of 2010 became Adrienne Banfield-Norris, was pregnant while in high school; the couple got married, but divorced after a few months.

Banfield-Jones raised Pinkett with the help of her own mother, Marion Martin Banfield, a Jamaican-born social worker. Banfield saw her granddaughter’s enthusiasm for the performing arts, and she enrolled her in tap dance, piano, and ballet lessons.

Pinkett Smith has remained loyal to her mother. She stated, “A mother and daughter’s relationship is usually the most honest, and we are so close.” In addition, she said “[My mother] understood what I wanted and never stood in my way.”

She participated as the maid of honor at the wedding of Banfield-Norris in 1998 to Paul Jones, a telecommunications executive.

Pinkett Smith has shown great admiration for her grandmother and said, “My grandmother was a doer who wanted to create a better community and add beauty to the world.”

Pinkett Smith has been married to Will Smith since 1997, with whom she has two children; son Jaden as well as daughter Willow. In their union, she also serves as a step-mother to Smith’s son from a previous marriage with Trey Smith.
