A Ghanaian football administrator, George Afriyie has revealed his dismay at the non-inclusion of Jeffrey Schlupp from the Black Stars squad for the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying games.
Ahead of Ghana’s two-legged encounter with Angoloa for the 2023 African Nations Cup qualifiers, the new Black Stars head coach announced a twenty-five-man list of players to fight for the nation’s course.
One player whose exclusion has caused an uproar among some football fans and pundits is Jeffrey Schlupp. He was also left out of the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
George Afriyie, speaking in an interview revealed that he trusts the coach’s judgment.
The former FA vice president said he thinks his expectations have been met and was hoping to see some players who were omitted from the squad that took part in the World Cup.
For him, the only player missing to his surprise is Jeffrey Schlupp, he quickly added that there may be other reasons that he may not be aware.
He called on all Ghanaians to put their support behind the Black Stars.
