Country music legend, Jody Miller died in her hometown of Blanchard, Oklahoma on Thursday 6 October 2022 at the age of 80.
The Universal Music Group added in a press release that she died as a result of complications from Parkinson’s disease.
Born in Phoenix, Arizona, Jody moved to live with her grandmother in Blanchard at the age of eight when her parents divorced.
She was the last of five girls.
Miller began her career in the early 1960s as a folk/pop singer in Los Angeles.
She was introduced to Capital Records by actor Dale Robertson. Her first album titled “He Walks Like a Man” was released in 1964.
Miller would go on to achieve commercial success with hits like Queen of the House for which she won a Grammy and “Baby I’m Yours,”.
