Rahm was born on November 10, 1994, in Barrika, Basque Country, Spain. He attended Arizona State University on a golf scholarship and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications.
He won 11 college golf competitions there, trailing only Phil Mickelson’s 16 collegiate triumphs.
In 2015 and 2016, Rahm became the first player to get the Ben Hogan Award twice. He also received the Eisenhower Trophy as the most outstanding individual in 2014.
During his junior year, he participated as an amateur in the 2015 Phoenix Open, finishing tied for fifth place, three strokes behind the winner.
