Joshua David Hawley was born on 31 December 1979 in Springdale, Arkansas.
He is an American politician and lawyer who since 2019 has been serving as the junior United States senator from Missouri. Prior to being elected junior senator, he served as the 42nd attorney general of Missouri from 2017 to 2019.
Hawley graduated from Rockhurst High School in 1998 as a valedictorian and went on to study history at Standard University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts with the highest honors.
He attended Yale Law School for his Juris Doctor.
After law school, Hawley worked as a clerk for Judge Michael W. McConnell of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and Chief Justice John Roberts of the U.S. Supreme Court.
Hawley’s private practice with the law firm Hogan & Hartson as an appellate litigator.
