Kurt Okraku Likely To Lose FA Election – Jerome Otchere

Sports pundit and former Asante Kotoko Express editor, Jerome Otchere has stated that Kurt Okraku is likely to lose his seat as the president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) if there is no improvement in the state of the country’s football.

Kurt Okraku has come in for immense criticism that the poor showings of the senior men’s national team at major competitions.

Ghana, who is a four-time African champion failed to go past the group phase of the just-ended FIFA 2022 World Cup held in Qatar.
The Black Stars were eliminated from the tournament at the group phase with three points finishing at the bottom of their group.

The current Ghana Premier League is also recording very historic poor attendance at matches.
In an interview, Mr. Otchere posited that the current administration has failed to develop the game since it came to power.

He added that the current president is likely to lose his presidency if the country’s football does not see any significant progress.

Jerome Otchere told Asempa FM that Ghana went to the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and we failed. The same thing according to him was repeated in Qatar where the team exited the tournament in the group phase with three points.

The Ghana Football Association will hold its elections in October 2023.
