Legendary BBC Presenter and Football Commentator Harry Gration Dies Aged 71

Harry Gration, a former host of BBC Look North, has passed away at the age of 71.

The BBC hired the football analyst and presenter in 1978, who later joined Look North in 1982, and presented his final program in 2020. Recognized for his work at BBC Yorkshire, condolences are pouring in, leaving former coworkers and loved ones “extremely sad.”

Helen Gration, his wife, wrote in an email that her husband had passed away: “He will forever be with us. Our three boys and I loved Harry totally. We had an awful lot of fun with him and our home was his life.”

BBC Yorkshire also joined the queue as they dropped a tribute to the legend adding that they are ‘heartbroken.’

“Our much loved friend and colleague Harry Gration died suddenly today. We are absolutely heartbroken to give you this news. Tonight our hearts go out to Harry’s wife Helen, their children and all of Harry’s family and friends.”
