Majeed Ashimeru Vindicates Asamoah Gyan After Stellar Performance In Angola Clash

Black Stars Midfielder, Majeed Ashimeru put up a splendid display for the team on Monday evening in the 2023 AFCON qualifier clash against Angola.

Majeed Ashimeru who plies his trade with Belgian side RSC Anderlecht missed out on a starting berth for the match against Angola in Luanda on Monday.

He was, however, introduced into the game by Chris Hughton to replace midfielder Edmund Addo in the 71st minute with the Black Stars still down by a lone goal.

The Anderlecht forward made and an instant impact on the game with some good football. He was instrumental in the equalizer by Red Star Belgrade forward Osman Bukari.

Ashimeru took advantage of the opportunity given him on Monday to show Ghanaians why he deserves a place in the national team as things stand.

His performance seems to have vindicated Asamoah Gyan, who was at a loss last year when Majeed Ashimeru was excluded from the World Cup squad.
