Former Manchester City and England defender, Micah Richards has named Thomas Partey as a contender for the PFA Player of the Season award.
Micah Richard was given the task of drawing up a six-man shortlist for the BBC, and he disclosed that Partey is the player who made the cut.
Since joining the Gunners from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2020, he has become an integral part of the Arsenal setup.
The Black Stars vice-president has come in for high praise for his all-round qualities as a defensive midfielder who provides protection for the team’s backline and as well leads the team’s charge forward.
Although he has missed several matches this season through injury, his displays have been outstanding each time he steps on the pitch.
Richards also named Partey’s teammates, Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard on his list but believes the Ghana international stands a better chance of winning the award.
The PFA Player of the Season award is voted for by the players themselves and is one of the most prestigious individual accolades in English football.
