Michael “Mikaben” Benjamin is reported to have died after collapsing on stage while performing in Paris, France.
Benjamin was born in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti in 1981.
His father Lionel Benjamin was a famed singer.
Mikaben began writing at the age of 15 and is known for his hit song “Ayte Se”.
He was the founder of Krezi Mizik, and also worked as a producer.
Mikaben’s death which occurred on 15 October 2022 has thrown both fans and fellow artists into despair with compatriot Wyclef Jean stating “This is a shock,” to the Miami Herald.
He was 41 years old at the time of his death.
His funeral is yet to be held.

Vanessa Benjamin (nee Fanfan) is the widow of Michael Mikaben.
The couple got married in November 2020 and have a daughter called Leïa together.
Vanessa is expecting another child.
