US wrestling star Mike Jones, known for his ring names including Virgil and Vincent, has sadly passed away at the age of 61.
Michael Jones, famously recognized by his wrestling persona Virgil, was an accomplished American professional wrestler and actor. He is most celebrated for his eight-year stint in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), notably serving as Ted DiBiase’s trusted aide.
During his time in World Championship Wrestling (WCW), spanning four years, he competed under various aliases such as Vincent, Curly Bill, Shane, and Mr. Jones, predominantly as a member of the nWo faction. Following his retirement from wrestling, he gained attention on social media as the inspiration behind numerous viral memes.

Mike Jones, born on June 13, 1962, in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, to Warren Jones Sr. and Elizabeth Jones, had two elder brothers named Warren Jr. and Donald, along with a sister.
Jones pursued higher education at Virginia Union University, where he played as a defensive back for the college football team while also engaging in amateur wrestling.
After completing his studies, Jones ventured into various endeavors, including working at his uncle’s loading and moving company. Additionally, he delved into bodybuilding competitions, inspired by a fortuitous encounter with Tony Atlas at a gym in Pittsburgh. Atlas recommended Jones to the world of professional wrestling in 1985, leading him to commence training under Afa of the Wild Samoans.
Despite his wrestling career, Jones also pursued academics and earned a degree in mathematics from the University of Virginia. Following his retirement from full-time in-ring competition in 2000, he transitioned into a role as a high school math teacher in Pittsburgh.
