Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak forward Charles Kweku Asampong Taylor has disclosed how playing for the local Black Stars as the Black Galaxies were known then, almost got his leg amputated.
This he explained, was due to the several injections he got before going to play for the team. He said at a point, the complexion of his leg changed to the color red and bad things began to happen to his leg.
Taylor stressed that after he had retired from playing professional football, no football person has ever come to ask about the state of his leg, as to whether it is getting better or not. He added that he was not happy with the response of the then-FA president when they met.
Charles Taylor also revealed that a piece of metal was inserted into his leg during surgery, and this contributed to his early retirement from the game of football.
