Volleyball player Kim Glass, who took home a silver medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, claims she was attacked by a homeless man this past weekend in Los Angeles. She almost lost an eye in the incident.
Glass claimed that it all occurred on Saturday, right after she and a friend left a lunch date at a restaurant in Downtown Los Angeles.
Glass claimed in a series of videos she shared on her social media page that as soon as she left the restaurant, she saw a man in the street holding something.
“He just like looked at me with some pretty hateful eyes. And, as I turned to go tell my friend, ‘I think something’s, like, wrong with him and I think he’s going to hit a car,’ before I knew it, a big metal bolt, like pipe, hit me right here. It happened so fast.”
The 37-year-old star claimed that the man hurled the item at her from a distance of several feet, and it smacked directly into her eye socket and the bridge of her nose, causing considerable harm.
She went on to advise their fans to stay safe as they go out citing that a lot of people are mentally ill.
“Just be safe out there. There’s a lot of mentally ill people on these streets right now and you shouldn’t have to be fearful when you walk but it’s true. And, so, you guys just be safe”
