Attahiru Bafarawa, a former Sokoto State Governor insists that the outcome of the presidential election would shock Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State.
His statement was in reaction to some claims made by Nasir El-Rufai that Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress will win the general elections.
Nasir El-Rufai had asserted that despite the machination of some elements into the Presidential Villa to derail Tinubu’s ambitions, he would still become the next president of Nigeria.
He said that the said elements are angered by the fact that Bola Tinubu emerged as the flagbearer of the party.
Bafarawa in reacting to the comments passed by the Governor of Kaduna State said that the Governor cannot make assumptions that Nigerian will vote for his preferred presidential candidate.
In an interview with the BBC’s Hausa Service, Bafarawa said the comments made by El-Rufai were disrespectful toward the North and Nigerians at large.
He said that his team will surprise their opponents and make them know that the country does not belong to anybody, likewise the north.
