A report by TMZ Hip Hop has revealed that prosecutors want Nicki Minaj’s husband to serve time in jail for failing to register as a sex offender in California.
According to newly released court documents, federal prosecutors do not believe Kenneth Petty, who pled guilty to the charge, deserves a sentence of 6 months in prison followed by a period of supervised release adding that any home confinement he receives as part of his supervised release would take place in the sizable Calabasas house he shares with Nicki.
According to the government officials, Petty will be spending his confinement in a “gated affluent community,” which has a pool, Nicki’s music studio, and a gorgeously planted backyard—amenities which they claim are at odds with their conception of crime and punishment.
Even though Petty had argued that he did not know the specific requirements and procedures to register as a sex offender after leaving New York, the prosecutors said that he was well aware of all the rules following the release of annual warnings to him for 2 decades.
Hence, the feds are now pushing forward for Kenny Petty to spend 15 months in jail, 5 years supervised release, as well as a $55,000 fine.
