RaDonda Vaught is a famous American nurse who was indicted on two charges regarding the death of 75-year-old Charlene Murphey at Vanderbilt University Medical Center on the 27th of December 2017.
RaDonda Vaught on the 25th of March 2022 was found guilty by a jury of reckless killing and impaired adult abuse. She was accused that she injected Charlene Murphey with an extremely dangerous dose of a drug that paralyzes.
The prosecution claims Charlene Murphey was supposed to receive Versed, which is a sedative. However, she instead injected him with the drug vecuronium that caused the inability of him to breathe, and he died as a result.
Vaught is facing between three and six years of prison time for negligence and two to three years for homicide causing negligence as a defendant without prior convictions, per sentencing guidelines set out from the Nashville district attorney’s office.
Vaught will be sentenced on May 13 as well as her sentence is expected to run concurrently, according to the spokesperson for the district attorney, Steve Hayslip.
