Rebecca Adlington has spoken out about having a terrible miscarriage with her third child, which left her fighting sepsis and a kidney infection for her health.
The 33-year-old Olympic gold medalist uploaded a picture of herself lying in a hospital bed clutching a cup of tea and an IV line that was clearly apparent.
“On Tuesday me and Andy went to the hospital for our 12-week scan only to discover we’ve had a miscarriage which resulted in emergency surgery. I managed to leave the hospital Thursday only to be readmitted Friday. After a day of treating sepsis, a kidney infection and a fever I’m slowly on the mend. Long way to go but I’m in the right place.”
Rebecca Adlington and her husband, Andy Parsons have been married since August 2021 after she separated from her ex-husband with whom she shares a seven-year-old daughter. Rebecca and Andy also share an 18-month-old son.
