Richard Lynn Scott also known as Rick Scott is an American businessman and politician who has been representing Florida as a junior senator since 2019. He is a member of the Republican Party. He never met his biological father.
He is a US Navy veteran who later became a partner in a law firm and co-founder of Columbia Hospital Corporation, which later merged with another company to form Columbia/HCA.
Scott was forced to resign as the chief executive officer of the company when the company was defrauded under his watch.
He first ran for governor of Florida in 2010. In the general elections, he defeated Democratic candidate Alex sink by a slender margin.
