Anthony Robert McMillan OBE, known professionally as Robbie Coltrane, was a Scottish actor, comedian, and writer, Robbie Coltrane, who was born on March 30, 1950, in Rutherglen, United Kingdom.

Son of Ian Baxter McMillan and Jean McMillan Ross, Coltrane gained worldwide recognition as Rubeus Hagrid in the Harry Potter film series, and as Valentin Dmitrovich Zukovsky in the James Bond films GoldenEye and The World Is Not Enough.

Robbie Coltrane Health and Illness

Robbie Coltrane suffered from osteoarthritis in later life. He said he was in “constant pain all day” in 2016 and was using a wheelchair since 2019.

He passed away on October 14, 2022, at a hospital in Larbert, Scotland, at the age of 72.

He was married to former beauty queen Rhona Gemmell. The couple got married on December 11, 1999, separated in 2003, and later divorced.

Son Spencer McMillan (born in 1992) and daughter Alice McMillan (born in 1998) are the two children of them.
