Scottish actor, comedian, and writer, who was born on March 30, 1950, in Rutherglen, United Kingdom, Robbie Coltrane, has passed away.

Anthony Robert McMillan OBE, known professionally as Robbie Coltrane, who suffered from osteoarthritis in later life and was using a wheelchair since 2019, died on October 14, 2022, at a hospital in Larbert, Scotland, at the age of 72.

Robbie Coltrane, who was born to Ian Baxter McMillan and Jean McMillan Ross, gained worldwide recognition as Rubeus Hagrid in the Harry Potter film series, and as Valentin Dmitrovich Zukovsky in the James Bond films GoldenEye and The World Is Not Enough.
