Ghanaian youngster Felix Afena Gyan has gained the confidence from AS Roma coach José Mourinho as he has included the striker in his squad to play against the high-flying Napoli on Sunday.
Roma will enter this game off the heels of a humiliating defeat 6-1 against Norweigean team Bodo/Glimit during the Europa Conference League.
This defeat has caused Mourinho to sack a few first team players and replace them by youngsters, including Felix Afena-Gyan.
Afena-Gyan is in great good form during the U19 League, and was recognized with a first-team match day experience.
In the break between international matches, Afena Gyan was invited to take part in training with the first team. Mourinho was able to witness first-hand the extraordinary potential the 18-year-old has.
He may be on his place on the bench in the crucial Serie A meeting, which Roma have to win in order to appease their faithful, who were shocked by the performance of Thursday.
Afena Gyan is the leading scoring player on the Campionato Primavera 1 with six goals. He scored a brace in two consecutive matches this month.
