Second Lady Samira Bawumia Agrees To Refund All Allowances Paid Her Since 2017

The Second Lady, Samira Bawumia has hinted on her intent to refund all allowances paid her since the Nana Addo led administration came into office in 2017.

In a statement from the office of the Second lady, she also refused to accept the monies allocated to her in pursuant to the recommendations of the Prof. Yaa Ntiamoah-Baidu led Committee, which has been approved by Parliament.

She will have to refund a total of GHS887,482 to the state.

This comes after the decision to pay the First and Second Lady attracted huge criticisms from Ghanaians, as many feel it’s the wrong time to pay spouses of the President and the Vice President.
