Born in Moderna, Italy on 23 September 1932, Sergio Brighenti was a former Italian football player and coach.
He played for the Italian national side nine times and scored two goals.
Brighenti also won two consecutive Italian league trophies with Inter Milan.
During the 1960-61 season, Sergio scored 27 goals making him the league’s top scorer for that season.
He began his football career with his hometown team Moderna and then went on to dorn the jerseys of Internazionale, Triestina, Padova, Sampdoria, and Torino.
He drew his football career to a close in 1965 and began a new career as a football manager which he started with Varese.
He has also coached Seregno and Lecco.
Brighenti died on Monday 10 October 2022 aged 90.
