South Africa vs Ghana – We Lost The Game In The Second Half – Black Stars Coach CK Akonnor

Black Stars coach Charles Kwabla Akonnor says his team lost to South Africa in the 2022 World Cup qualifier due to a bad second-half performance.

The Bafana Bafana dominated the game in the second half and scored in the 83rd minute to secure their first win of the qualifiers.

Hugo Broos side are on top of Group G of the qualifiers after the win against the Black Stars.

CK Akonnor who has come under severe criticism after the defeat admitted his substitution failed to work in the second half.

“In the second half, we somehow lost the midfield in terms of how we want to play because we believed that we could win the game”.

“We did one or two substitutions, which really went the other way round, and we kept dropping and dropping.”, he said at the post match conference.

The Black Stars face Zimbabwe in a doubleheader in October in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
