Oliver Taylor Hawkins was an American musician. He was best known as the drummer for the rock band Foo Fighters, with whom he recorded eight studio albums.
He was previously the touring drummer for Sass and Alanis Morissette, as well as the drummer in the progressive experimental band Sylvia before joining the band in 1997.
Hawkins started his own side project in 2004, Taylor Hawkins and The Coattail Riders. He played drums and sang and released three studio albums from 2006 to 2019.
He formed NHC in 2021 with Jane’s Addiction’s members Chris Chaney and Dave Navarro. Chaney also performed lead vocals and drumming duties.
In 2022, the band’s single album will be released. British drumming magazine Rhythm voted him “Best Rock Drummer” for 2005.
