Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has returned to full training after injury forced him to withdraw from the Black Stars squad for this month’s 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Partey was excused by head coach Charles Akonnor because of an ankle ligament injury and his absence affected the Black Stars as they picked up three points from a possible six in two games.
Black Stars beat Ethiopia fortuitously in Cape Coast before they were stunned by South Africa in Johannesburg to put their World Cup bid in jeopardy.
A day after the South Africa match Partey has been spotted training with his Arsenal teammates.
Manager Mikel Arteta is expected to include him in the squad for the weekend’s Premier League match against Burnley.
And should Partey not sustain any injury, he will return to the Black Stars squad for next month’s crucial qualifier against Zimbabwe.
Black Stars will play The Warriors home and away in early October.
