Toby Keith Covel is an American country music singer, songwriter, actor, and record producer who was born on July 8, 1961, in Clinton, Oklahoma, United States.
Keith is professionally known by his given names. He released his first four studio albums in 1993’s Toby Keith, 1994’s Boomtown, and 1996’s Blue Moon, as well as 1997’s Dream Walkin’, plus a Greatest Hits package for various divisions at Mercury Records. Keith left Mercury in 1998.
All of these albums earned Gold or higher certification, and produced many Top Ten singles, including “Should’ve Been a Cowboy”, his debut. It topped the country charts, and was the most-played song in the 1990s.

“Last fall I was diagnosed with stomach cancer. I’ve spent the last 6 months receiving chemo, radiation and surgery. So far, so good. I need time to breathe, recover and relax,” the award-winning country music singer, songwriter, actor, and record producer wrote on Twitter.
“I am looking forward to spend this time with my family. But I will see the fans sooner than later. I can’t wait,” he continued.
