World Cup 2022: “I Was Expecting To Play Against Portugal” – Fatawu Issahaku

Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has revealed that he was expecting to play the Black Stars World Cup opener game against Portugal.

The four-time African champions were defeated 3-2 by Portugal in their opener game last Thursday, November 24.

According to the Sporting CP attacking midfielder who was on the bench, he was expecting to play the game, however, he was okay with the manager’s decision.

After the Portugal game, speaking with the press, the 18-year-old Ghana winger said;

“I expected to play because all players want to play. It’s the coach’s decision, but I’m fine with that. He knows in which position I can perform more, so it will always be his decision.

“After the World Cup, I will work even harder to become who I want to become.”

The Black Stars will play their next game on Monday, November 28, with South Korea.
