George Afriyie, the bankroller of Okyeman Planners, has said that it is a herculean task to get football fans to return to stadia for premier league and cup matches.
It has become a common phenomenon to see empty stadia during football matches across the country, with giants like Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak also finding it difficult to attract spectators to their matches.
It is on record that both clubs struggle to attract more than 5,000 fans for a game.
The former Ghana Football Association’s vice president in an interview with Asempa FM said that if everyone plays their required role, the stadia will be filled once again.
He said that if we all come together, and everyone is playing their roles, things will change.
George Afriyie stressed that clubs will have to play their part, supporters will have to play their part, supporters unions, individuals, corporate bodies, the media, the GFA, and everyone must play their role.
