The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has banned the Bahir Dar Stadium in Ethiopia due to the stadium’s not being approved to host international games.
The Bahir Dar Bahir Dar Stadium was supposed to host the match between Walia Ibex against Ghana in the penultimate round of 2022’s FIFA World Cup qualifications.
In accordance with the ban of the stadium, the Ethiopians will host Black Stars at a neutral location when they meet in the coming month.
The Ethiopia Football Federation has been given until Wednesday, October 20, 2021, to propose an idea for a new venue for the game that is scheduled to take place in the coming weeks.
If the information is not communicated, the requested information, CAF will then fix the match in Ghana in accordance with the regulations for the World Cup qualifiers.
The Black Stars are sitting at the second spot on the ladder after four rounds, and are only one point difference from the top team, South Africa.
They face Ethiopia as well as South Africa in the last two games.
The groups stages will conclude in November, and the winner will be selected for the play-offs that are scheduled for March next year.
